Genghis-Khan (Part 7), Georgia, the country that never was
This post is following the last 6 ones. Make sure to read Genghis-Khan full history in part 1-6 of his adventures.
Let’s talk about Georgia, bet you didn’t saw this one coming. In our history they are remembered as the bullied kid of Anatolia and pushed around by the Ottomans and the Russians, more on them later. What if I told you that without Genghis-Khan, they could have been a major power. Yep, that’s right, after the rule of Queen Tamar III, this Christian mountain kingdom was on the verge of starting a golden age and to play with the big boys. And all of this was utterly destroyed by the Mongols, and like the rest of the Middle-East, Georgia never recovered. This wouldn’t be the last nascent power that the Mongols crushed in their infancy, Europe got like two to three of these.
We’ll continue with the Genghis-Khan in the next post. Make sure to follow the next part of the series!
